Become a registered contractor

WHO'S IN CHARGE?

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) handles the licensing for Florida Septic Tank Contractors.

WHAT IS REQUIRED?

You must have 3 years of documented work experience while working under a Florida Registered/Master Septic Tank Contractor or Florida CFC Plumber. The DEP application packet has detailed information on providing proof of your work experience.

I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH WORK EXPERIENCE.

You can substitute up to 2 years of work experience with classes.

  • 30 CEU hours = 6 months of work experience
  • FOWA Classes are usually 6 hours each, so usually 5 classes would get you 30 CEU hours.
  • If you are taking more than 2 classes you will save money by joining as FOWA Member.
  • Membership is $300 and runs from Oct. 1st – Sept. 30th regardless of when you pay.
